AC 2009, registration and priority list

Karsten's picture

Dear all,

today is the last day for registration for this years AC. During the last Alumni meeting we decided to apply for two places for official representatives of the group of alumni, especially for taking part at the GBM. We said it would make sense to give these places to people of our board.

Until now we don´t have a new board. It seems to be that way that we will have official elections most propably not online, but at this years annual Alumni meeting. Those elected persons should be given the possibility to take part at the GBM.

Due to this issue I got in contact with the ACO´s from Groningen. They proposed to register two unknown persons from alumni for the AC. Names could be hand in later. Today I proceeded with this and signed up two unknown persons from egea Alumni.

Until now we had already two registrations: Anastassia (Moscow) and Jessica (Augsburg). I sent them already a mail to inform them and to ask them for understanding this issue.

Best greetings!
Karsten

Hi Karsten,

Thanks for your e-mail - and no problem at all, I believe that this apprioach is fair enough.

I am finally more or less back to egea - but prefer to stay active through EGEA Alumni as I am now living in London and not in Moscow.

Not sure to which extent I may be officially involved in the Alumni affairs, but I would definitely like to stay active -it's been a while now!

Hope to see you at the Alumni Weekend!

P.S. Do we have a procedure for choosing a new Alumni board?
Cheers!

Priolist

Priolist

The priolist can´t be set before the Alumni-Weekend in the beginning of September. As far as I noticed we got three places in total. The first two of them are to be reserved for new board members who are to be elected at this weekend. What could be done with the 3rd place is something else and is up to the group - for me it would be fine to draw it by lot out of the four further applications (Anastasia, Jessica, Satu, Gerard). What do you think?

What I don't understand is

What I don't understand is this:
When a candidate for alumni board wants to go to the AC, then (s)he would most probably already have applied for it. I don't think that one of the alumni suddenly decides at the alumni weekend (very shortly before AC) to come to The Netherlands..

So why not give the places to the four people who applied, so that they can book their flights?

Would be great of course if one of them will represent the alumni board at the GBM.

AC and Alumni

Hi Tim!

We want to assure that two persons from the new board will go to the AC, as we figured out several times before, to make sure to have people present at the GBM who know what they are talking about. Unfortunatly we don´t have a new board yet, but we´ll have it hopefully soon - if we find volunteers for these tasks. The offered 3rd place can be set sooner by lot.

Moving up!

As I just saw Anastasia has made her way on the participant list by moving up. Congratulations - so we´ve 4 places at the AC whith the fist two still to be named!

We still have to nominate these two persons, as we said these should be persons who are willing to engage themself in our next board. Until now we still don´t have any nominees for that. Come on, Alumnis, where are you?
